Within the diverse communities of the Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association (PAMLA), there are a range of literacies (visual, audio, tactile, spatial) that we believe deserve more representation, acceptance, recognition, and exposure to wider audiences. PAMLA Arts Matter is a digital space to cultivate and question these literacies, so that we can further explore a kaleidoscopic array of aesthetic expressions from our global community.
We are dedicated to promoting the study of textual artifacts with a comparative, inclusive, and intermedial approach, highlighting the interwoven relationships between aesthetic theories, practices, geographies, bodies, histories, and cultures.
